Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple is located at the foothills of PAVAGADA fort in the backdrop on the Andhra-Karnataka border belongs to TUMKUR district in the Indian state of KARNATAKA. Pavagada is situated about 160 kms from the state capital city BANGALORE (BANGALURU) via SH-3 & NH-4 and 38 kms from the Penukonda town via NH-7.
This temple of Kote Anjaneya Swamy is in existence since the days of Vijayanagara Empire and said to have been installed in the year 1406. The gigantic 13 feet height idol of Lord Hanuman is believed to have been consecrated by Sri Vyaasa Raajaru, the great Madhva Saint/Philosopher and Raja Guru of Sri Krishna Devaraaya. Pooja/rituals at this temple are conducted as per Madhva Sampradaya.
Pavagada town is situated at the base of beautiful and historical Hillocks and Forts. It has a historical background of more than 500 years. Sri Shani Mahatma Temple is very famous and attracts many devotees from different parts of South India. The other famous temples are Kanive Narasimha Swamy temple and Nagalamadikay Subramaneswara temple.
